On my way home one day, a flower I had never noticed before caught my attention—Queen’s Tears. The name struck me as so beautiful, so powerful. To think of sadness or grief not as weakness, but as beauty, vibrance, and poise. The flower looks delicate, its head bowed, yet it stands intact and full of integrity.

That inspired my piece. I imagined a terrain of emotion: fabric folds like mountains, resilient and timeless, shaped slowly by change. And through them, a river basin—like tears—carving deeply. Not taking anything away, but adding texture, color, and life.

For me, that’s the journey: pain becoming beauty, grief becoming creation, and sadness deepening the landscape of being.
